EAU DE COLOGNE (EDC) is the oldest and lightest member of the fragrance family, famously originating in Cologne, Germany. It features a low concentration of aromatic oils, typically between 2% and 5%, diluted in high-grade alcohol. Known for its bracing and clean character, EDC traditionally relies on a heavy dose of citrus, neroli, and herbal notes, designed to provide an immediate burst of freshness rather than long-term wear. Because it lasts only 1 to 2 hours, it is meant to be applied generously throughout the day as a revitalizing "pick-me-up" rather than a lingering signature scent.
